The 3rd Annual Kings of the Court Spring League once again took over the courts at Southridge School from May 9th – June 6th with teams from throughout the Fraser Valley. This season welcomed new champions in both the Senior and Junior divisions, who were recipients of a $100 Boston Pizza team dinner, along with the opportunity for a rematch prior to a Vancouver Titans home game on June 12-13th. Each of the eight participating teams also received a team set of tickets to be guests at the Titans home games.
Senior Division – The top seeded Riders blew open the flood gates in the second half of their championship game against the Surrey Globetrotters with a 77-48 victory. Facing an eleven point deficit going into halftime, the Globetrotters were unable to match the Riders transition game and outside shooting. SENIOR DIVISION RESULTS
Junior Division – The third time was the charm for the Basketball U Junior team as they captured their first title after falling short in the two previous championship games. With a slight three point advantage over the Newton Lions at halftime, BU opened up a thirteen point lead before the Lions mounted a late second half comeback, falling short 45-39.
