THE 5TH ANNUAL HOOPFEST TOURNAMENT
On August 22-23, the 5th ANNUAL HOOPFEST TOURNAMENT crowned a new champion after four years of tournament dominance by “The School”.  Led by the trio of Alex Steele (MVP), Neb Aleksic (All-Star) and James Kenyon, the “Runnin’ Rebels” claimed their first title after two previous attempts, with a 93-85 victory over “Athelite”.

KINGS OF THE COURT: Senior Divison Results

The top seeded Riders blew open the flood gates in the second half of their championship game against the Surrey Globetrotters with a 77-48 victory.  Facing an eleven point deficit going into halftime, the Globetrotters were unable to match the Riders transition game and outside shooting.

KINGS OF THE COURT: Junior Division Results

Junior Division – The third time was the charm for the Basketball U Junior team as they captured their first title after falling short in the two previous championship games.  With a slight three point advantage over the Newton Lions at halftime, BU opened up a thirteen point lead before the Lions mounted a late second half comeback, falling short 45-39.
