Submitted by Steve on July 23rd, 2011
On the weekend of August 20-21st 2011, CENTRECOURT is proud to present the “7th Annual HOOPFEST TOURNAMENT” at the state of the art Langley Events Centre. After one year removed from the throne, “The School” once again claimed the Hoopfest Championship last year in a thrilling title game over the “Runnin’ Rebels” for their fifth championship in six years. Will your team be the one to stop the reign of this basketball dynasty, or will a unprecedented sixth title be in order for the Fraser Valley squad?
Since 2004, HOOPFEST has looked to showcase the elite teams and players from Western ...
2010-2011 NBA PREVIEW – SOUTHWEST DIVISION (or the Texas Triangle plus 2)

1. DALLAS MAVERICKS
WHY/WHY NOT Quite honestly, I see this as the last window of opportunity for the Mavericks to win a title with this group, and with the depth that they have, the only team to really challenge the Lakers in the West. On paper a lineup of Tyson Chandler, Dirk, Butler, Jet and JKidd covers both ends of the floor, and bringing Marion off the pine to replace Butler or Dirk along with Barea and a soon to be healthy Beaubois will allow the Mavs to keep the intensity level the same. After dropping the title ...
2010-2011 NBA PREVIEW – WESTERN CONFERENCE PACIFIC DIVISION
Submitted by Steve on October 25th, 2010
Even with the improvement of the Celtics, Magic, Heat, Bulls and Cavs (with Lebron of course) over the past handful of years, the Western Conference was still viewed by many as the dominant of the two NBA coasts. While the scales slightly still weight in favor of the West, injuries and player movement have allowed the East to catch up. While the favorites on the Pacific side of the coast are still the veteran laced clubs such as the Lakers, Mavs, Spurs and until Melo leaves the Nuggets, younger clubs like Portland and OKC are starting to make ...
2010-2011 NBA PREVIEW – ATLANTIC DIVISION (or the Boston Celtics and four others)

1. BOSTON CELTICS
WHY/WHY NOT – Respect is as we have all be taught, something that is earned, not given. Three years ago the Celtics the Shamrocks brought in The Big Ticket, Mr. Shuttlesworth and drafted Rajon Rondo. The one glaring problem that I had with that was, two of the three are on my list of all time favorite players, now playing for the Lakers most hated opponent. One ring, one injury plagued season and a return to the finals later and the Celtics window for another championship banner is looking to be all ...
2010-2011 NBA PREVIEW – CENTRAL DIVISION
Submitted by Steve on October 8th, 2010
Other than the Atlantic Division, predicting the order in which the Central Division will finish and which teams will move on to the playoff rounds should be fairly easy when it comes down to the top eight teams in the East. Reloading two franchises, one known for it’s success in the 90′s and the other who has been on the verge of something a few times in past handful of years, the Bulls and Bucks are the definite front runners of the Central, while Pistons, Pacers and Cavs have all fallen on hard times recently.

2010-2011 NBA PREVIEW – INTRO AND SOUTHEAST DIVISION
Submitted by Steve on September 26th, 2010
Often the off-season has been more exciting than the regular season for the NBA, as teams tinker with their rosters in order to try and get a step up on the rest of the league or imitate those who found success. Does movement in the off-season always equal success? For the Boston Celtics three years ago it did as KG, PP and Ray bonded together to chase down the chip, but for the Cleveland Cavs who last year brought Shaq in to counter Dwight in hopes of winning the East, the plan fell short. This summer the story of course ...
